Still only available in black? No tan?
I've not seen it in tan unfortunately. You could always have it reupholstered.

Just got one from Seattle Vespa...
A passenger can ride on it but they will have to hold onto you tightly and sit very close because it does slope away at the rear, and the rear area is smaller than on the stock saddle. My wife sat on it and said she could tolerate it for very short trips.

It is a very interesting saddle--the materials are unfamiliar, the padding is quite firm, and the rider seating surface is very grippy, so you won't be sliding around on this one--very interesting. It sort of reminds me of a stylish Corbin saddle, if you know what I mean. I like it.

Hello all. Any reviews on this seat yet? I'm considering swapping my 300 Super stock seat, but am concerned it actually might be 'taller' than stock, thereby making standing while idling a bit more difficult. But if the cushioning is better for 50 mile+ riding, it would probably be worth it for me.

In brief...
I like this new saddle.
It is slightly lower than stock.
You will not slide around on it, at all.
The new saddle is firm, somewhat like a Corbin, and is comfy for me.
Not everyone likes firm saddles.
I liked the stock saddle's comfort, I just wanted to move the hump back.

You cant put one foot down without worry on the stock seat??

My feedback (new from today)
Great look (see photos even with rack)
Higher than my stock GTS 250 seat
Firm ++
My pillion doesn't feel comfortable at all.

I do not keep it.

No surprising as it's a solo seat.... It does look good with the grab bar and rack though, I thought it would look funny.

This seat makes the GTV more comfortable for me, moving me back on the seat. As mentioned, very sticky, no sliding around. If you park your scoot in the sun, you may find you need a Cool Ass - I do. I don't know how it would compare with a GTS seat for comfort. I hate to lose the look of the GTV seat, but this seat is a big improvement for a big guy.

Max at Scooter-West got my friend and I hooked up with this seat when their order arrived. The seat definitely has more room to stretch out and seems to be a bit shorter than the stock seat. I've put about a 1K miles on mine and am loving it.

I ordered 2 of them from Scooter-West for $379 each. This is definitely one of the better mods I've done to the gts. The stock seat caused me to sit too far forward and wasn't very comfortable, this one allows one to move rearward, doesn't seem as tall or cause your trousers to bunch due to sitting so far forward on the steep portion of the stock seat. It did seem a bit firm at first, but after riding on it and having it sit in the sun, it seems just right.

BTW, anyone who rides a passenger, this seat isn't for you as there's no room for your passenger to sit. I suppose it enhances the well designed passenger foot pegs?

At today's conversion, it's $200.48 + VAT and shipping. Not sure how much that would run? I know that Scooter-West wasn't able to purchase these directly from Piaggio and was having to purchase from a reseller. I originally saw this post last year and started hounding Max to get me one which he did no questions asked. Considering how ridiculous the airlines have gotten about baggage, I'm sure shipping it back would be the most cost effective means.

VAT is 20 percent where I go and shipping from Italy is also close to it. So it is reasonable. Dan

I have purchased parts from PSN Tuning in the UK and have never been charged a VAT. I was told that customers from the US don't have to pay it.

As an idle curiosity: does anyone know if the mono seat uses the same seat pan as the older GT/GTS seats? Would love to hear that they actually moved the plastic part of the hump.

I am going out on a limb here...
It starts out as the same pan as my stock saddle as every part of the molded pan is in the same place exactly. However it appears that the hump has been worked somehow--the curvature is difficult to measure but it appears to have moved back slightly--maybe. It is very subtle, for sure.

On my new saddle the plastic is not smooth and uniform around the hump, as is the stock saddle. On the new saddle there is a broken texture in the plastic, and some wave patterning across the pan, down the slope toward the rear, like contour lines. It looks worked.

That is my report I am stickin to it until someone does a careful analysis.

Thanks for the analysis. Sounds like they're doing something to alleviate that hump. It could be that they modified one of the existing seat pan molds, removing metal and adding metal back somewhere else -- which rarely produces a smooth mold. It could also be that they simply have some kind of heat press which deforms the seat pan in that one spot. The seat pan is polypropylene (a thermoplastic) and so should be able to be heat-formed over and over again.

Got one on the GT 200. This is a comfortable seat, feels a little like a Corbin, but softer. Can't wait to put it to the test on a 250 mile ride. It's got a good angle, and great support across the saddle. Excellent value for $300.

and here is a photo of the pan.

I really need a GT200 seat for my new GTS! Managed to blag one from Genie last year, but that got stolen with the bike earlier this year.

I now have a couple of GTS seats here so anyone fancy a swap - PM me. There are even options on the cover too (and the hinges have been polished and painted back to as new condition (they tend to rust).

The GT200 was never marketed here in Israel, so I got nothing but blank stares when I started asking around about getting a seat. I ended up having the foam shaved on my GTS250 seat... with decidedly mediocre results.

I'm waiting for this mono gel seat to be offered in beige or brown and then I'll snap one up.

Trepp - My guess is that it may not come out in other colours as it is pretty specialist anyway (and you lose the passenger option too). The GT seat does give the best of both worlds as you can slide about where ever you like and still take a passenger if you have to.

Whist I did not originally notice the difference, as soon as I got the new bike with the standard 300 seat I realised how much it hurt me to sit on it. Ass was numb within about 10-15 mins and had to stop after 20-30 to get the feeling back.

Thought I was one of the only people that suffered with this until I spotted this thread today.

GT seat is now on order as is a new cover.

GTS Seat will go up for sale in a week or two.

ScooterWest stocks those too. Compared to the price of the seat it is not expensive

Hello All,
Took the plunge and got a sports mono seat for the GTS300.
Looks amazing.
Monkey butt / Numb bum sets in after about an hour on the standard seat, about 2 hours on the new seat, which is probably about as long as I'm likely to ride in one go.
Recommended.
One tiny comment, this seat is slightly more fiddly to raise than the original, especially when you have sausages for fingers like I do.
Thanks to Buster for recommending Ron Daley, 3 days from order to delivery.

I used one in the Scooter Cannonball. Very comfortable with a Seat Pad. You have to remember that this is a Sport Saddle, and not a touring saddle.
