Modern Vespa

I have had an MP3 400 which my daughter used to widen the garage 😢
My next bike was a BV 350 which has been great. I called her Beverley. This week, I am selling her and bringing home a Vespa 300 GTS Super Sport which I am calling Capri. Does anyone on Modern Vespa name their scooter?

GTS - Mechanical Squirrel, because its so twitchy when pushed on a twisty road

MP3 - Donkey, because it handled like one when pushed on the back roads. This bike has since left us.

Suzuki Cafe Racer - Mouse, because this little 250 is so little.

My family used to name their cars. I think just to buck that tradition I didn't name my cars, but I immediately named my scooters.

Vespa GT 200 - Bo
Vespa GTS 300 - Tethys

(Bo was short for Boanerges - one of the sons of thunder. Tethys is titanium grey and was the name of the Titan goddess of thunder.)

Sophia for my LXV150IE cuz that's a very classy Italian, the Liberty, ok, very lazy but she's Libby.. and that just a couple tickets in the raffle drawing.... She's Alta Dulce cuz that's High Sweet in Spanish and ya, winning that '78 P125X was and still is a awesome Sugar High.... Oh, and the car, is Precious, think Lord of the Rings... traded in a extremely fuel efficient car that had just been serviced and the gas tank filled for pretty paint and clutch with a 6 speed tranny and like Gollum, regardless of less mpg, more debt... that's my Precious and No, do not touch her, do not eat in her, do not even consider smoking, no, you can't borrow...and my son was my driver after the scooter accident and it was emotional to allow him to drive it...oh, don't do that! Shift, shift, No, no, not like that...oh, please leg, let me start driving again.... Needed that foot/leg for the dratted gas, needed knee to bend to even get in... needed to figure a way to do something with the Walker I needed, needed to figure out how to even get safety out of my house and to the car... Oh, so far NO One else ever runs my scooters......

The Vespa or if more than one The (insert colour here) Vespa. The BMW is the BMW and the Ural well... I do sometimes refer to them as My Italian, Russian or Bavarian girl. I'm not really that creative TBH.

New to this forum and also to the world of riding scooters but I have a GTS 125 and she has a name. Meet Lady Upsy-Daisy Sunrise!

Welcome to MV! and a great name for your scooter. It's refreshing to see a yellow GTS that has not been modified from chrome to black trim. Keep it original, I like it.

I have only named one as I think she deserves a name if we are to do the SCBR together. Black GTS250 so I named her Joan Jett.

Green bike.

Ours is The Italian Job. My wife hates that name which sweetens the deal.

I use crazy names for my rides. So I have "The Vespa" "The BMW" and "The Ural" currently in the stable. Once in a while the Ural is "The Tank", the BMW "The Beast" and the Vespa "The Scooter".

My '21 Piaggio Liberty that I got 5 days ago is named "P. Libby".

I used the first 3 letters from the color and added a "Y" at the end.

It is Titanium gray.

My Vignola Rosso GTS300 is called "Beauty", mainly because the black Kawasaki Versys 1000 is called "Beast".

Then there's the silver LX50, she's called "Snoopy" and then of course the black Piaggio Ciao, which is called "Woodstock".

It really helps especially my wife to know which ride I or we are going to take .

Must have named mine f*** you cause that's what I yell at it all the time.

The VFR is Bumblebee, the MT-10 is Marvin and the Primavera is Bluejay. The ST1300 is called Nozomi (the express bullet train)

And last fall Trinket came to live here, cuz, you know when someone on line mansplains how if I didn't waste my $ on Trinkets I could afford to buy a good car and maybe even build my credit rating to where I could get a home loan.

My GTS 300 is named Stella

"Bernadette", my grandmother's middle name. Not-so-coincidentally also full-blooded Italian.

I just bought my 2006 GT200 and decided to name her Jupiter after Sailor Jupiter. I may or may not have designed decals for it using her colors and symbol

I have a yellow Vespa Sprint and call it both Wasp and Scooty Puff

I think I'm going to name my Stella GTS 300.

I tried to name my blue GTS300 FL "Bluebird", but it didn't stick. My two scooters are just "the blue one" and "the white one".
