Now on. A little difficult to install w/oxy sensor. They have also included a bracket extension to lower the pipe about 1.5" so it clears the plastic fairing. I stripped the clamp provided so i had to put a muffler clamp from pep boys on until I can get a pretty clamp. Sounds awesome. engine light has not come on as of yet which i had a concern about. also put on side stand.
side stand feels better on this gts then on my GT w/topcase.
Pipe is very close to axle, note lowering brackett
pipe sits lower than on a GT

Looking good 8). I was on the Scooter West page the other day to see what upgrades and accessories were available for the GTS and came across this picture by the Scorpion pipes. The pipe looks a lot lower on the GTS than it did on the GT. Is it ? How's the performance ?

pipe height
yes the pipe sits lower by 1.5", comes with lowering bracket. so it does not hit plastic fairing and melt it. the pic from scooterwest is my old gt. I had to shave the plastic fairing because it came in contact while off the centerstand.

ramrezz425,

Be very careful with the pipe that low. I know one person already that crashed because of the ground clearance on a GT with the Scorpion pipe. His problem was a bumpy road surface in the corner and the front of the can dug into the road high siding him. This was an experienced rider.

In addition, we found a scuff on the stock exhaust heat shield of my wife's GT after riding hard through an area with a lot of curves. I plan to increase the setting on her rear shocks.

There seem to be a lot of travel in the rear suspensions while in a curve.

Boss pipe
Yeah.......you've got 'em beat even before they leave the garage. That's a boss exhaust setup, man.
Does anyone out there have the PM Tuning counterpart? It seems they were the 1st to post with the aftermarket rocket exhaust. I put forth an honorable effort to get the PM last year but it was EXPENSIVE, and not much was published about it other than the required roller upgrade.
I've got the same Scorpion on my GT200 and it's performing gladly.
I'm curious about your engine light comment though.....should I be worried about something?

Hey Ramrezz

I got the pipe for my GT (thanks for your advice) and I have not installed it as of yet. Does it hang that low on a GT? I know that the pic of the black GT that you used to have the pipe doesn't hang as low.

Just wondering if it needs to hang that low?

Hows it hangin'
The pipe needs to be lower due to the fact that the old way made the top of the pipe hit the fairing during operation. you should have a 2"approx. spacer with your pipes hardware which makes this possible. when the bike is off the centerstand the pipe sits and looks better. DR

Hi Ramrezz

Thanks for the explaination. I hope that the tech here in Toronto will not have any trouble fitting the pipe?

Is there anychance that the pipe can touch the road when riding?
