That's what I have on my rear...a 140/70-12 Michelin Pilot City. It was a result of my local motorcycle shop ordering the wrong tire, but so far I am pleased with it. I can't tell yet whether it will make much of a difference in terms of mileage. I have about 2000 miles on it now. If I can get 5000, which is what I got out of my Zippy 1, I will be happy and this will be my new tire I continue to go with.

Going from a 120 to a 140 will not give you added speed, I think the tire is just wider. If you went to a larger diameter tire, then your speed would increase very slightly. But then there will be clearance issues.

That tire would be a total of 28mm taller.

youv'e got a 120 ont the back? Have you changed it? They should have a 130 on as standard. I tried the 140 last year, it is (still have it in the shed) Mitchelin pilot sport and it didn't suit me as i'm too heavy but would be fine for you, although you might suffer a little when two up. The gear up is about 7% on a 130.

having the 120 has completeley zapped like 10% off my top end. the rear is twitchy and it sits too low. idd order a 140 but im worried about it scraping the mudguard.

Even if you don't fancy gettin a 140, you should definately get the 130 that's supposed to be on the back! Ditch the 120 mate.

How heavy are you exactly mate. I'm 14 stone would that be too heavy for a 140 rear tyre. Suit Scoot shouls be ok though (skinny git )

Aaaaaw, I was hoping you'd fit a 140 section so I could have a go and see if I was too fat for it

The 140 does not hit the hugger at all.
Babyarms, if you hit the limiter often and easily then the 140 would be a benefit. As for Suit.......why the hell did you put a 120 on it. If you wanted punchy acceleration a molossi variator would be a sound investment.
