Great photo. Are those kangaroos or wallabees.
They had a traveling animal exhibit this year at the
local zoo with both. You could walk out in a massively
fenced area and see them across the field.

You must have to dodge them while riding.

Kangaroos. Those couple were young, I'd just chased some larger adults off the road at the previous corner. These were young and dumb enough to let me take their photo while I was sitting on the bike in the middle of the road

Our danger is deer. The introduction of the leash law
on dogs does not allow dogs to be off leashes. Previously,
dogs would bother deer, bears and other animals in our
urban areas driving them out of the city.

Now, there are deer everywhere hitting cars.

As a result of confining dogs has increased the population
of deer.

I have everything from deer, racoons, fox, and bobcat in
the forest behind my house in the city. I have not had
a bear yet. The local police have hunted and shot off
coyotes because they are killing small dogs. They
came into my city hunting rabbits who are also out
of control because of no dogs loose.

I guess we are back to nature. These animals have
moved into the city to avoid hunters out state.

Long cold late afternoon Autumn shadow

Last couple of weeks I've stayed home with the kitten but had to escape for a ride

cold afternoon up a mountain. sadly I didn't get to ride the unsealed road below so had to walk it instead

Just wanted to ask: since you are doing a lot of gravel roads trips, have you thought of installing a bit nobblier tires? Something that will keep you safe also off the tarmac? But still be excellent in city.

If you manage to get this Heidenau tires https://www.heidenautires.com/product/k-66s-lt/ (be aware, you want this version with the Silica Rubber mixture), that might be a good compromise. I swear to these tires, and they became my whole year use. Never felt so secure like with those, except for the Pirelli GTS Diablo (summer only) which are having some witchcraft in them. But this Pirellis are just for summer and very hot roads. The mileage you get from them is, laughable.

yeah I've thought about it a few times. But the time i need the best grip is when racing along mountain roads and need maximum grip while leaning around tight corners with a cliff beside me. That's when Diablos are a great choice, that sorta riding can kill me whereas gravel riding will only break bones.

I am so sure in these Heidenaus that i recommended you that i do not have a problem to ride it to the limits on the side.

I wish you to have as less as possible broken bones and as much alive as possible, otherwise we would be missing those gorgeous photos of Down Under.

I just had a quick look at Heidenau's Australian site and they only have the K61 and K75. I guess they think there's no market for the K66 in Australia

I absolutely love your photos, you're the reason I turn off down every gravel/dirt/unmade road I can, just to see what's down there! What do you use to take your photos?
