That almost sounds like something is rattling? Was motor completely torn apart for rebuild? Top end rebuild? Clutch replaced?

Take off the shroud and see if it continues. could be the fan *barely* hitting the shroud.

Not all good yet one of the screws what holds the stator plate keeps turning. The hole thread is isn't good. Lock tight isn't going to do the job I don't think.

Thread repair kit hopefully, haven't been in there lately, can't remember how much material you have to work with.

Little things like that can ruin your day. Just as you're buttoning up and ready to go for a ride. I had a stud strip on my front wheel hub and it took some days of figuring and fiddling to sort it out. Glad you got it sorted out.
