As some of you may have seen, I got my new Primavera last Wednesday, and have been on a couple of local rides to get to grips with it all. But today was the day I ventured a bit further afield!
I decided that for my first adventure, I'd head down to Portsmouth, which for those elsewhere in the world, is on the south coast of England. But in particular, old Portsmouth and the historic dockyard is where I went today. There are current Navy aircraft carriers docked there, as well as HMS Nelson and HMS victory, which is the oldest naval vessel still in commission (for tourism only now, obviously!) having been launched in 1765, and used by Lord Nelson in the battle of Trafalgar, and also where he died in 1805. My grandparents, who are no longer with us, moved down that way when my grandad retired when I was young. And I have fond memories of coming here and seeing all the old ships and watching the ferries come and go, it's definitely my 'happy place'.
I avoided as many major roads as possible on the way down to take in the countryside and to make the ride a bit more enjoyable!
I've definitely written too much, if you have made to this far, thank you!
Here's some pictures..
