Ten years in the car business, you don't need an attorney. I have Lemon Lawed three expensive German vehicles from three different manufacturers. All it takes is persistence and getting the manufacturer involved. None of the dealers participated in funding the buyback and they were payed for their shop time. It helps to approach the service manager and manufacturer with logic and a bit of humor. Strange as it may sound these experiences strengthened my relationship with the dealers and especially the service managers.

I've also experienced two "lemons" that were eventually made whole, a 75 Mercedes Benz 280 my folks purchased and a Last Edition BMW R100RS. The 280 was constantly in the shop for the first 30,000 miles. My Father was running a business and my Mother had what in ignorance they thought was MS. While still a teenager I was the the one who dealt with the 280. I ended up becoming close friends with the sales manager, service manager, and the lead mechanic. They have all passed on, I still keep in touch with the service manager's son and the 280 stayed in the family for 33 years. The BMW was the worst nightmare the dealer had seen. I washed my hands of it after five episodes. When the transmission self distructed I gave up and purchased a K75S. A good friend and client bought the R100RS and never had a lick of trouble with it.

Different outcomes, sometimes it's really a Monday product and and often it's a conglomeration of simple issues. I miss the 280 and in retrospect REALLY regret bailing on the BMW, a one owner, sorted Last Edition is a modern classic. There's also an official R100GS recall that has my name on it, long story...

Hope this is helpful and glad you're giving the dealer the opportunity to correct the situation. I'll add that that none of the issues above prevented the future purchase of products from the dealers involved. If it doesn't work out and you want to pursue the Lemon Law options PM me.

Tip my hat to you, Rock. You are more patient than me. And yes, your GTS is more flickable. The Burgman is built more for the highway , as the GTS is a good all arounder that leans towards the city.

Interesting bike as it reminds you of the old British twins in nature. That is - what you get is known as a standard bike. Upright riding, not particularly quick, but faster than a cruiser. Also, not a sport bike, so in the middle between the two. Somewhat comparable to a Bonneville, I suppose, but I have not ridden any of the newer Bonnies, so I don't really know for sure. I only had one for a short time as I was installing new tires on it for a client, but it seemed to be a decent bike and actually a bit rare for around here so I don't know what acquiring parts would be like. Definitely do some research on that before you buy. The client ended up selling right after the tires were installed for a CB500X, which I really like, but that's me.

It's very good on many levels.

It sort of sticks out in the Honda line up because it's pretty good to look at and all the rest are a bit Meh.

My buddy put 100,000 km on his CB500X. If you just want to get there, and don't care how painfully dull getting there is, it's an excellent bike.

If it's anything like my CB500F was, no matter how boring it is, you won't have to worry about falling asleep on it, because you'll constantly have to shift gears up and down.

We called my 500F "the derp bike" because of its small lightweight nature. It felt like the reliable-but-children-oriented version of the Monster 620i I also had at the time, which brings us back to Italian bikes...

I had one for ten years. It was utterly reliable with one fault. It didn't scream "Kawasaki" like the previous two I owned. Even now my 1983 750 Spectre shouts it loud and clear. More speed and acceleration than I need and the smooth, uncounterbalanced multi cylinder virtue I love. Even at 71 I admire horsepower.

Been running around town all morning - scoot is riding just fine etc - is there a chance that just getting gas through the thing fixed my issue OR is it just a matter of time before I stall out again far far away from home! Lol

Absolutely nothing wrong with just reading about it the problem is that it may lead to infidelity...once the trust is gone and you start looking at some other options often times the relationship is on it's way out.

There are plenty of fish in the sea, and it's nice to try some of the different ones and see how you like them.

I am envious of some of the posters in here who have had so many more different bikes than I have and I have had a bunch of them.

Just remember Prince rode around on a Honda CB400A. If that doesn't make those cool I don't know if anything is cool.

The first time I owned a CB500x, I had just come off a SV650S. The Honda seemed underpowered and a bit dull. Fast forward a few years later and it was just the right bike for me. But I had been riding a Stella 150. Sometimes it depends what you had been riding beforehand that makes the next one seem so much better.

And the small, lightweight nature is what makes it a good trail machine. Not a powerful bike at all, but a good all arounder, more comfortable and easier to handle than the DL VStrom I tried to substitute for the SV650 so I could ride some trails. I would not have sold mine if it were not for medical bills.

In that same vein it was because of this forum that I started watching bike reviews on youtube by Fortnine.

I was really taken by Ryan F9's review of the Tenere T7 which is Yamaha's version of the Africa twin.

Everything in motorcycling is a compromise except for the most radical race bikes and even in that arena there are compromises like for supermoto where it's some dirt and some street.

With a 700 cc vertical twin and modifications done to dial in the suspension to make a relatively heavy trail bike handle like a much lighter bike the recipe for an adventure touring bike for tight technical trails (like the BLM trails walking distance from my house in NW Reno).

I would really like to have one of those even just for a little while to see if I can sense once I get used to it the same things Ryan talks about in the review.

In another thread, I for one chimed in to say I found CB500X a bit boring...but I do get your point.

I had a nasty injury earlier this year, making my right wrist permanently a bit of a weak link. Now, although my Bonneville has relatively neutral riding position, being OK(ish) even for a weak wrist, I'll have to say I've been thinking how much easier life would be with a bit lighter bike....236 kg (/520lb) ain't fun when there's effectively only one hand to manouver the bike at standstill.

This said, I'll admit I'd miss the locomotive -like low end torque of the modern 1200cc Bonnies, as well as the looks

IIRC, he actually wrote a song about a Kawasaki GPz. I owned an '83 and it was quite terrific.

Hi, could be a number of things, Plug, when it stalls remove it, see if its wet and sparks, good then look at fuel starvation, fuel pump renewed good carry on check fuel filter, when was it last replaced on service and anti return valve next to fuel filter, two things with the tank, is tank vacuuming due to kinked or blocked air intake or could be the tank filter clogging now that there's to much Bioethanol used in E10, clean tank out, try swopping to E5 premium this has detergent's that clean the fuel system.

When I picked up my bike from the dealership the other day they say they spent a lot of time and looked through everything and the bike is "fine" - NOPE!!! I hope they just replace the fuel pump and this all goes away.

I always use 93 Octane, not 87 or 89. Buggs are you suggesting I use 87 to clean it out?

Getting a shaman to wave some bones over it works just as well.

The Tenere is more like Honda's Transalp. The Super Tenere and the Africa Twin are behemoths. The Tenere has always been a solid RTW bike, one of the top two. It is hard to break and will outrun a Nissan Sentra.

Yea he's not wired up right, he has a passion for Vespa Cosa's too, neither of them work either.

I am confident once they fix this issue, it will not fail again besides normal, wear and tear things. I mean I did 6500 stress free miles until this happened

The first time it stalled was super hot - second time was warm, not incredibly hot.

Yesterday when I was cruising around all day it was super warm

What will you do if it fails again ?

The heat aspect of it is interesting as the impella would stick in the pump early versions because of expansion.
