My ET2 was sold this week to a very nice couple in my area so I headed off to pick up my new ride. It's not a modern Vespa, but I hope you guys won't mind if I stick around! It's been a blast to ride so far and I can't wait to ride to work tomorrow

That's a great color. Gotta seem huge after the ET. I straddled one at the bike show back is January, and it was very nice. Sure has a wide butt, though. "Baby got Back!"

In the beginning I wasn't too crazy about the style of these maxi scoots, but it is really growing on me. And they must be so nice to ride. Not that I don't love my px, but it's like an old 70-ies Rolls Royce compared to a brand new one

CONGRATULATIONS!

And do stick around. My feeling is that a lot of us here are interested in your experiences with it! I know I am.

I feel the same way. I thought at first that they were kind of pointless, I mean why not just buy a motorcycle? Now, after buying a motorcycle, I'm seeing the light: The maxi-scoots are easier to ride, have more storage, and do a better job of being a sport-touring machine than sport-touring motorcycles. They can go the same distance but in more comfort and in a smaller, more manageable size. They're also more affordable than most sport-touring motorcycles.

You know, Jess, that's exactly my thinking on this one. I've always liked the idea of a touring motorcycle (lots of storage & being able to take off for the weekend kind of thing) and yet I wanted something that could get me to work with as little fuss as possible like my ET did. I think the maxi-scoots have that angle covered and plenty of power as well.

Thanks everyone! I've really been enjoying it this week and since I'm still in the 'break in' period I haven't wound it up yet but I will soon It's the 200cc version of this bike not the 500 (still a big jump from the 50cc!) and I think it's got the same basic set up as the GT200 does.

Not defecting, just trying something different. My next purchase, which my wife will tell you is YEARS from now, will be a maxi, Piaggio product.
