Sorry this is not scooter related but I wanted to show you guys a fresh paint job. One of my other hobbies is vintage and vintage-styled travel trailers. I purchased this 1982 Scamp about 2 years ago. It was in pretty good shape but definitely needed a paint job. Just got it back today. The 2 pics with my Subaru are "before" pics. We're off to the Lake Eden Arts Festival this weekend. I hate it's not a rally but I'll be camping, listening to good live music and eating good food so I can't complain too much. Anyone else on here that goes to music festivals?

Thanks for indulging me....
See my Stella in the garage?

That looks light enough for you to be able to pull with your Stella. that is very cool.

NSR: Arts Festival in Asheville, you wouldn't happen to know a local Bamboo artist named Carol Stangler, would you?

Sure don't. What do you know about her? There are lots of folk artisans here. Lori and I spen a lot of money on pottery, etc. Does she have a gallery here we can check out?

Seth I love the Scamp! Great paint job on it. I used to do a couple of Blue Grass festivals a year. Ever been to Merlefest? I went a few years ago, haven't done any in a while. Kids, work, new house, etc. I need to do some more, Beale.

Yea, we've done Merlefest. I was last there in 2001 when Dolly was doing her big (heehee, get it?!) bluegrass tour. 20,000 people on the lawn is a bit more than I am comfortable with. Still, great fest!

LEAF is very similar to MF except it is held 2x per year and they close the gates at 5,000 people. Also, it's 20 minutes from home!

I can't wait to load my Stella on the Subaru, hitch the camper and head to Ocracoke Island for a week. Unfortunately, we are using all our vacation time this year to visit my sister in Australia. Maybe next year.....

Thanks for the link. I have a couple of other friends who teach at the John C. Campbell school. I'll bet they know each other. I'll be sure to look out for her. After all, how many bamboo artists can there be in Asheville?

You should put a Joe Hauler on the back of the scamp to haul the Stella!

Cool trailer!

Is that like a Versi-Haul?
that would be a cool set up. Do you have a link? Stella fits in the bed with the tailgate down so I just have to watch so not to take super-tight turns and ram the corner of the tailgate into the camper. I know that others have towed behind the scamp too and that might be an option for me.

Hey, how do you like the Baja? I remember when they launched it you couldn't get a manual transmission. Now you can get that and a turbo, which is kind of cool.

Love it! Mine is a 2003, which is the 1st year. It is a manual transmission non-turbo. I'm pretty sure '03 was the only year they made turbo and non-turbo models. They're all turbo now. I've heard this is the lasy year for them.

Subie fills all my needs...big enough for us and the kids, gets around the mountains in winter, pulls the camper PLUS my scoot just fits in the bed with the tailgate down. If you've ever thought of getting one now is the time.

The website shows a non turbo model, but I wouldn't bet it's that popular. Not much cheaper than the turbo, the mileage isn't that much better, I wouldn't bother. That said, it's not me who loves them, but my mom. She just thinks they're the best car/truck thing ever.
