Modern Vespa

In case you haven't noticed, gas prices are going back up. Premium just recently hit $3/gal here in Sacramento. I don't know about you, but the higher gas prices go, the better I feel about riding a scooter. Soooo... I figured a fun way to keep reminding everyone how much they're saving by riding their trusty two-wheelers is to tag gas station signs showing the fuel prices. The game is that every tag has to show a higher price than the one before. Anyone, anywhere can play because unlike regular tag, you're not trying to find the place the pic was taken, merely a gas station with a higher price. We'll use the Premium grade price for the purpose of comparison.

I like it..This isn't the highest one in San Diego but this one is alway's up there.. I'm sure it's expensive in Coronado..They can't cross over the bridge with the tankers..They have 2 go the Silver Strand route..

I'll never be able to top anyone, we have some of the cheapest gas in the country. I paid $2.49/gal for premium today.

Ooh, that is steep! Dunno if I an trump that here in the foothills...

I'll give it a whirl... but I sure as hell won't be filling up at the gas station that I photograph! I get cheap gas on base.

OK, me thinks "ufo" killed this tag by finding the most expensive gas in the country How about we tag the cheapest gas?

Edit: I realized those were the cash prices, but the credit prices on the sign to the right are still lower.

That's almost a $5 fill up!!!! 8)

I say it all the time to my co-workers with their big a*s lifted pick-up trucks that take $70-90 for a tank of gas.

California probably has this one locked up unless I spot some price gouging during a hurricane this season (no doubt it will happen).

So is it to be highest or cheapest? Need a direction.

I think it should be both. I think we should clearly mark whether our tag is for the Lowest or Highest. We'll just keep a running tag of both extremes.

Ok. Clearly, I didn't account for the vast regional differences in gas prices. I foolishly thought all could play this one. Unfortunately, not the case. Therefore, I am going to set up regional Gas Tags threads. I will make this one "Gas Tag-Nor Cal". I will take ufo's tag and make it "Gas Tag-San Diego". I propose someone start a "Gas Tag-CA Bay Area", "Gas Tag-LA" or any other regional area where folks want to play.

It's already gone up since I took this one.

I know this is kind of an older thread, but since it's been just over a year (based on the last post) and gas is just a scouche cheaper, I thought it might be fun to visit this again... Here's a local station in my town...
