Modern Vespa

My wife and I went grocery shopping to Raleys Market on Freeport and saw an Orange Buddy 125. We knew it belonged to SheRides and eventually saw her afterwards. Anyway, thought we could start a "Spotter" thread for the Sacramento region. What do you think. May need to have an extra camera in the glove box.

That would be challenge getting a picture of your scoot.

I can dig it. I regularly see a yellow LX (I think) in my 'hood (The Pocket) but I've never been on my Vespa when we've crossed paths. I have a few regular motorcyclists (less in the winter, natch) on my ride but rarely other scoots. I'll keep my eyes peeled tho

One day last fall I saw SIC and Cool on the same day in different parts of town. But I was in my cage....so no waving.

I saw SIC two days ago at the taco stand down the street. BeamerWeb zoomed by my house yesterday. He was spotted by my son. I saw a girl on a black Stella yesterday. I see more of those Chinese no-name scooters than I can keep track of, but I don't think they count.

I wish that I had my camera today because I saw one of our taggers (you know who you are) turn into the first driveway at Trader Joe's then drove down the sidewalk to the second driveway. Busted ha ha.

I also saw SIC at the taco stand.

Was it possibly a black VBC? I know who that is.

As for Sic, well, that's a lot of tacos.

I saw the Lambretta that went with us on the Scoot shop rides in Freeport today. Are not we supposed to take pictures?

Theron, yes if you could. Pictures would be nice if you have the time and camera available. I'm definitely going to try to take pictures if I can. You could be riding the scoot to somewhere and see another scoot parked at a market, restaurant, or anywhere matter of fact. Mercedes and I stopped by Ikea one day and someone left a Royal Bastard card on our Vespa. The same card also was left when we had dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory. If one can't take pictures, than just mentioning it on here is what this spotter forum is for.

I see this guy on a nice mint green vespa with a matching top case on my ride down T street just about every morning. We wave, but have never actually stopped to chat. He must work at UCD because he's always got scrubs (or whatever those green outfits are called!). I'm not good at identifying vespa models, though, so i'm not sure what he's riding. Looks nice, though.

There's another one I see once in awhile. It looks like a deep daring plumb color similar to Copper Dolphin's. I usually see this girl on T street between stockton and alhambra. She's got the total outfit and has the Italian vespa look nailed. We share peace signs when we pass each other. Very nice

As for familliar people - I think my closest encounter so far was Croney when he was looking for a tag ... oddly enough, on T street. Heh ... you'd think that was the only place I ride ... it kinda is!

Hey Jason, I've seen a guy riding around T street a few times. I think a green Vespa and he's always got a cigar hanging out of his mouth.

I saw a TV175, an AllState and the sweetest GS last night at BonLair.

Do those no-name Chinese scoots count? If so, Wednesday, orange chinese scoot learning to split lanes on Sunrise. I didn't mean to pass you like that, but you've got to go faster then that. There are a lot of lane splitters on Sunrise coming home from work.

Yesterday (Thursday), AWESOME beat-up red Vespa on Fair Oaks near San Juan... Super vintage... It had that sweet pPpPpPpppPPPpppppPPPPPppppppPPPPpp sound to it!

Well I can't claim to have spotted anyone .. but jane and I took our longest ride today (unintentionally, but still fun) ... maybe someone else spotted us?

Red 'n Blue Flys out south on S. River ... then i don't frickin know where until we finally landed on Hwy 84 on the west side of Ryer Island and then back in on Jefferson ... We went through a whole tank of gas, because I got so dang lost down there. It woulda been nice if I had brought our GPS or had even a sense of where we were going, huh?

FAN Tastic Ride, though. I highly recommend hwy 84 on ryer island ... talk about fun twisties ... best one yet, for me. Lotsa twisties, some 20mph some 50mph - very nifty.

I spotted lots of motorcyclists and we passed a Harley!!! (hard to do, huh? )

Just stumbled upon this thread... (I tend to hang out at ModernBuddy.com, for obvious reasons...) Guess I will have to start carrying a camera with me all the time. I am so jazzed when I see another scooter! And with the great weather, I am seeing more and more.

Saw scooterist SteveinSac today. Looks like he was loading up the scoot in the Baja to go somewhere and then ride.

We took the scooters up to Nevada City to ride a little and then watch my brother race in the Nevada City Classic Bike Race. My brother Pat in front of Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer.

WOW! That is a priceless photo....how long did your brother stay in front of them?

This was during the last 10 mins of a 90 min race. My brother was being lapped at this point. In the first couple of laps a rider had a blow out and my brother was pushed into the crowd and went down. My brother had recently returned from a 15 year hiatus and is now 41 years old. So still not bad considering the challenges he's facing.

I was playing Ultimate Frisbee a few yards away in the park! Every Monday night! 8)

Ultimate Frisbee! My stepson is a big ultimate frisbee player...he will be coming into town later this week for an extended visit and he always looks for opportunities to pick up games. I will let him know and come watch some Monday. Unless he succeeds in getting a temp job in Yosemite which he hopes to do.
