Is it possible to fit these 13 inch wheels to a GTS?

To compensate the extra diameter i would use a tire with a lower profile like a 130/60-13...

Any ideas?

Some folks run a 140/70 R12 rear for a higher top speed- 140/70/12 on gts?
And if this is believed- Tire Calculator your proposed setup is smaller.
But, I think I'd prefer 140 R12 rear rather than going for than 13 inch rim. The 140's been well tested and the cost of replacing just the tire is probably cheaper than both a new rim & new rubber.

If you're thinking of doing a 1:1 wheel swop you also need to check the wheel bolts will fit your existing GTS hub OK - parts may be consistent from between Piaggio models but I'm not sure. Be mindful of braking performance too on a changed setup.

Also the offset of the wheels might be different on the hub. This might look great and I would love to see a shop try it out first.

I and others have done it with 12s" on a 150.

What bike is that?

Pretty sure it would work, Piaggio uses the same hub on everything. Verify by crossing the hub part number. Slight offset difference if any is non-issue as long as nothing hits.

Might have just shown me my next Vespa -- 300 Super with those, Bitubos and a Akra would be sweet.

If overall diameter of tyre does not change, there should not be any changes to brake performance.

same hole pattern as on the 12" rims. just need to check diameter clearances . but should be just fine. You could find a yourban owner willing to let you use his rims for a test fit before you buy new rims.

Two things:
1. That looks fantastic, the whole scoot looks fantastic!
2. Bigger wheels do not necessarily provide better "performance". I am very curious about the weight comparison to the stock set-up.

I'd like to know if the larger wheels have provided more stability at speed. I'm not much of a modder, but if there was significant improvement, i'd do this in a heartbeat.

The total diameter of the wheels is almost exact to the original spec.
The wheels are larger but the tires are smaller.

You want a bigfoot? I'll get you a bigfoot. You don't want to know how, but there are ways.

Absolutely the best looking GTS ever. Perfection would require Vintage Red.
Seriously, so very clean and so very Vespa. WOW.
Well done!

Indeed, unfortunately i'm not going twice as fast now...

Forgot to weight them..
Was this a straight swap? Were the new wheels just bolted on? How much were the Yourban wheels?

I adore your vespa. Not only do the wheel really set it off, but the clean lines are really wonderful. No crash bars, no racks, just the basic lines of the Vespa.

My dealer told me that he had to machine the center hole but was kinda vague on what he had done....like he wants to keep "the" secret...

Good Question
That kind of stability depends, of course, on the amount of weight in the rotating wheel. I don't know what the status is for this guy's wheel, but I found that putting on a set of heavy duty winter tires (Heidenau), which weighed considerably more than the stock tire, had the effect of making the scoot more committed to its line--straight or on a curve. The transition from one line to another was far slower. A trade-off, but desirable if you want the stability at speed.

I'd like to know if the larger wheels have provided more stability at speed. I'm not much of a modder, but if there was significant improvement, i'd do this in a heartbeat.
